Summary

St Joseph’s Hospital South ED and Patient Tower Expansion Phase II is the renovation of various areas within the existing hospital, including the first floor food and nutritional services “food prep area”, lab, pharmacy and mail room, third floor respiratory therapy area and the fourth floor education, rehab and dialysis areas. The Phase II scope also includes the interior buildout of the existing third floor shell space which will create a new progressive care unit, pediatric unit, NICU and respiratory therapy unit and the fourth-floor buildout to support a new med-surge unit. Moses Engineering was hired to perform commissioning services as a third-party. The following systems were included in commissioning: • Building Automated Control systems • Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) system • Central Energy Plant modifications • All life safety systems (fire alarm and fire sprinkler) as it relates to alarm/failure mode sequences only • Normal/critical/life safety power transition sequences • ATS life safety, critical and equipment branches • Additional generator and associated controls • Essential power fuel system Fire/Smoke dampers
